Is it legal to arbitrage between USDT and THB on Binance Global?

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

honestly it's fine for small amounts, plenty of people do it daily without issues. the bigger risk is getting flagged by your bank if you're moving tens of thousands of baht at a time, especially with SCB or Kasikorn they'll call you in for a chat. for anything under 10k THB per trade you're basically invisible to the system, just keep it off your main savings account and use a separate debit card or e-wallet like TrueMoney if u want to be extra safe

The short answer is yes, it's legal for individuals to do peer-to-peer arbitrage between USDT and THB on Binance Global, but Thai tax law is the part people overlook. If you're doing regular trades and making a profit, the Revenue Department considers that taxable income, and technically you're supposed to report it on your annual tax return. The Bank of Thailand also has capital controls that can make moving large sums in or out of the country a hassle, so keep your volume reasonable or use a Thai bank account that's friendly with crypto transfers like Kasikorn or SCB.

It's not illegal, but the regulators here have a way of making things complicated without actually banning anything. The SEC Thailand has been clear that crypto exchanges operating here need licenses, but Binance Global isn't one of them, so you're essentially in a gray area where the government knows it happens but hasn't cracked down on individuals. Just be aware that if you're moving more than 50,000 THB in or out of a Thai bank in a single transaction, the bank's compliance team might freeze your account and ask for source of funds documentation.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
