You'll want to head to Siam Paragon or CentralWorld, both have decent jewellery sections with silver options. The basement level at Siam Paragon has a few shops like Nova or Pandora that stock western-style silver necklaces in your budget. For something more unique, try the little silver stalls at Chatuchak market on weekends, you can haggle and find handcrafted pieces for under 2,000 baht. Just take the BTS to Mo Chit and walk over.
The MBK Center at National Stadium BTS has a whole floor of jewellery stalls, mostly silver. Head up to the 4th floor and walk toward the back, there's a cluster of family-run shops that do custom work. I've had a few pieces made there for around 1,500 to 3,000 baht, and they'll engrave or adjust the length same day if you ask. Just be ready to point at what you want and negotiate a bit on the price.
I'd skip the big malls and hit up River City near Saphan Taksin BTS. There's a couple of silver shops on the second floor that specialise in modern Thai designs, think clean lines with subtle elephant or lotus motifs that still look western enough. Prices usually land between 1,500 and 4,000 baht, and the quality's better than what you'd find at Chatuchak. Grab a boat noodle at the food court downstairs while you're there, it's one of the few places left that does the old school recipe for 60 baht.
