Is there a reason why when I try to finish a payment I can't because a section of the app is grayed out? Could it be because the network is busy or something else? The grayed out section usually means the app is stuck waiting for a response from the bank's server. It's not just network congestion, it could be that the merchant's PromptPay ID is registered with a different bank and there's a routing delay. I've noticed this happening more at stalls near CentralWorld during peak hours when the mobile towers are overloaded. Try switching to the bank's own mobile data or use a different payment method like scanning a static QR code if the shop has one.

Sounds like it could be a few things. Bangkok Bank's app tends to lock up that payment section when your session times out or if the merchant's QR code is from a different bank network like PromptPay versus their own. I'd try force-closing the app and reopening it right before you pay, or switching to the bank's mobile internet instead of the shop's WiFi which can be flaky near Victory Monument. If it keeps happening at the same spot, the shop might have a slow terminal on their end.

honestly this is prob a session timeout thing, the app logs u out after like 2-3 mins of inactivity which is super annoying. if ur standing in line at the shop for a bit before paying, the grayed out part means it lost connection to the payment gateway. i always just open the app fresh when im at the counter, tap the qr scan right away without navigating around first. also if the shop is in a busy area like siam or asok, the mobile signal can get overloaded and the app just freezes up. try switching to 4g instead of wifi if they offer it

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
