Pretty safe for what it is, just don't expect them to follow every traffic rule. The app tracks your route, so you're not totally anonymous out there.

It's fine for what it is. The drivers know the shortcuts through the soi better than any taxi, so you'll get where you're going faster. Just hold on tight and keep your bag zipped up, especially if you're going down a main road like Ratchada where things can get a bit chaotic. The helmet they give you is mandatory by law, but it's often the bare minimum so some people bring their own.

Grabbike is generally safe for short trips around the city. The drivers are vetted through the app and you can share your ride in real time with a friend. A helmet is provided by the driver, but I'd recommend bringing your own if you're particular about hygiene, some of them can be a bit worn. The experience is fast and cheap, but expect some aggressive weaving through traffic, especially on Sukhumvit or Silom during rush hour.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
