Sukhumvit Suite condos/hotel Why are the condos so cheap to rent on a monthly basis? I understand the location may not be the best since it's near Nana but units start off around 6,000 baht a month and they are spacious too. Does this place have a bad rep

The 6,000 baht units are usually the old hotel wing that never got renovated when they turned part of it into condos. You're basically getting a room with a mini-fridge and a hot plate, not a real kitchen. The newer tower units with actual kitchens and proper AC go for 15,000-20,000. Also check the electricity meter, some of those cheap units have building-managed meters that charge 8-10 baht per unit instead of the government rate of around 4 baht.

Yeah those prices are suspiciously low for that area. A lot of those super cheap units in Sukhumvit Soi 4 are basically old converted hotel rooms with thin walls, shared utilities, and sometimes the "monthly" rate doesn't include electricity which can triple your bill.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
