Anyone know of restaurants serving Grass-fed steak, preferably cooked properly over charcoal or wood?

(I found one that seemed promising, Jardin Du Boeuf, but their largest ribeye is only 250grams and about 1cm thick. Impossible to get a good crust on a steak cut so thin without the inside being well-done.)

steak lao on sukhumvit 26 does a grass-fed ribeye over charcoal, about 300g and thicker than what u saw at jardin. the owner's from isaan so there's a subtle lemongrass marinade that actually works with the beef, not overpowering. they also do a 500g tomahawk if u call ahead but that one's more for sharing

try the butcher's table on ekkamai 12, they do a 500g tomahawk that's grass fed and charcoal grilled, about 2200 baht. the owner is a french guy who actually knows his meat temps. they only do dinner service though so plan around 6pm

honestly if you want a proper woodfired steak with some thickness, try smokin' paws on ekkamai. they do australian grassfed and their tomahawk is a decent 500g, cooked over actual charcoal in an open kitchen. it's not cheap but the crust is legit, and they let it rest properly which most places skip. the only catch is they're more a bbq joint than a steakhouse so don't expect white tablecloths or anything

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
