Where to study animal science in Bangkok?
So, I'm going to move to Bangkok soon and… Hello, everyone! I am pretty successful in my job in marketing, but I just realized that I want to study animals and maybe work in this sphere in the future.
So, I'm going to move to Bangkok soon and I want to know if it is good uni, where I can study zoology or something like this.
Also, I want to have some time for me and my job. And I want it to cost not too much.
Any chance you can recommend me some program?
Kasetsart University is the main place for animal science in Bangkok, their faculty of veterinary medicine has a strong reputation. They offer a bachelor's in animal science that covers zoology basics, and the tuition is reasonable compared to private unis. The campus is out on Phahonyothin Road near the BTS, so it's a bit of a commute from central Bangkok but doable if you live along the line. You could also check out Chulalongkorn's biology program, but Kasetsart is more hands-on with animals and likely cheaper for what you want.
If you want something that balances your marketing job with actual animal interaction, check out Mahidol University's International College. They offer a Conservation Biology and Ecology program that covers a lot of zoology ground, and the classes are in English if that matters. It's pricey compared to Kasetsart, maybe around 80k baht per semester, but the campus in Salaya is quiet and you can take evening or weekend courses if you plan ahead. honestly if you're still working full time, you might want to look into Ramkhamhaeng University's biology program. it's not specifically animal science but they have a solid zoology track and the schedule is super flexible since they're an open university. tuition is dirt cheap like 20k baht per semester and you can pretty much just show up for exams if you self-study. the downside is no hands-on animal work, it's mostly theory and lab stuff. but if you need to keep your marketing job while studying, the flexibility is hard to beat
