What ATM/Bank has the lowest fees for withdrawing money?

Each ATM I have tested, charges 220 Baht for one withdrawal. Is there any bank that has lower fees or is this the standard in Thailand/Bangkok? Each ATM I have tested, charges 220 Baht for one withdrawal. Is there any bank that has lower fees or is this the standard in Thailand/Bangkok?

The 220 baht is the standard fee for foreign cards at every Thai bank's ATM. You won't find a lower one. What some travelers do is carry a Schwab or similar card that refunds international ATM fees, that's the only real workaround if you're not here long term.

If you're near a SuperRich in town, some of their exchange booths let you withdraw cash directly from your foreign card with no fee, but the exchange rate is slightly worse than what the banks give. You end up roughly even, maybe a few baht better off. I've tested it at the one on Sukhumvit Soi 3.

220 baht is basically the standard across all Thai banks for foreign cards. Aeon used to be 150 but they changed it a while back. If you're near Siam or a big mall, try Aeon just in case they haven't updated the fee on that specific machine yet.

Another thing nobody mentioned - some ATMs let you withdraw up to 30,000 baht instead of the usual 20,000. Krungsri and Bangkok Bank machines in tourist areas often have the higher limit. So even with the same 220 fee, you're paying less per baht withdrawn. Just check the screen before confirming.

If you're gonna be here more than a month, just open a local account at Kasikorn or Bangkok Bank. You need a work permit or a long-term visa though, tourist visa won't cut it. Then you can use their ATMs for free and skip the fee entirely.

yeah 220 is the standard for foreign cards at most ATMs here. the only way around it is to get a bank account locally if you're staying long term, or use a card that reimburses foreign atm fees. some people swear by aeek bank or krungsri but they still charge the same flat fee. if you're in bangkok for a while, try opening an account at bangkok bank with a work permit or long term visa, then you can just use their ATMs for free

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
