Any locals nail shops (not tourist Luxury Salons) willing to do men's toenails for men with gnarly toenails? Want to get mine cleaned up by an affordable pro

I asked the owner if they do mens toes and she said no -- you need special equipment and products for toes ( and maybe a special license ? )

I don't want to get my toenails painted but the gizmo that they use (small power tool like a dremel tool) would be amazing at cleaning up my nails.

Might be an odd request and a shot in the dark but any guys done this? Where did you go? Or have you seen a shop that looks like they might be willing to tackle the gnarly toenails of a guy?

I don't want to walk into a shop where they aren't expecting to see toenails like mine and give them a heart attack.

yeah that's a thing, some places just do hands only. you want a shop that does "pedicure" not just nail art. any of the little street shops near on nut bts or down sukhumvit soi 50/52 area will take you. I've seen guys get their feet done at the places opposite lotus's on nut for like 250 baht, no polish, just the drill and cleanup. they don't care about gnarly, they see it all the time. just walk in and say "pedicure, no color" and point at your toes. worst case they say no and you try the next one down the street.

the thing about the dremel tool is honestly most legit nail places have them here, they just dont advertise it for men. try looking for shops in a neighborhood like ari or ekkamai that are just a single room with a couple chairs, not the flashy ones. i've seen guys get their feet done at the little places along sukhumvit soi 71, near the phra khanong bts. just walk in, show them your feet and ask straight up if they can do a 'pedicure for men' without polish, most will say yes for like 300-400 baht and they won't flinch at gnarly nails because they've seen worse from locals who wear sandals year-round

the on nut suggestion is solid but if you want another option, try the little foot massage shops along sukhumvit soi 71, between phra khanong and on nut. there's a cluster near w district that does nails for like 200 baht and they're used to all kinds of feet. the old aunties running those stalls have seen way worse than anything you've got, trust me. just go during a quiet weekday afternoon when they're not busy and they'll take their time with the dremel without rushing you out

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
