where ramen

arrow_drop_up 2583 arrow_drop_down

u could try bankara ramen near phrom phong station, they do thick tonkotsu with a layer of pork fat on top that keeps the broth hot all the way thru. the queue moves fast during lunch and the chashu bowls are a decent deal at 280 baht. just dont get the spicy option unless u actually want heat because their "mild" is already pretty punchy

I'd actually recommend going to Ippudo at CentralWorld if you want a reliable bowl without the hunt. Their karaka spicy ramen has that miso base with ground pork and chili oil, it's consistently good and you can grab a seat pretty fast on weeknights. The downside is it's in a mall so it lacks that hole-in-the-wall charm, but the broth is solid enough that I keep going back.

For a different vibe, check out Bishamon in Thonglor. They do a black garlic tonkotsu that's pretty intense and the broth has this deep roasted flavor you don't find everywhere. Just past the Soi 55 entrance, it's a small spot with maybe eight seats.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
