Tops Market Madness

fmd_good Tops

So, I'm heading to Tops, that massive supermarket near the BTS station. I've heard the produce section is amazing, seriously, Instagram-worthy stuff. But I'm terrified of getting lost. It's HUGE. Se… more

Just stick to the perimeter. Seriously. Work your way around the outside, grabbing what you need. Tops is massive, but the outer aisles usually have the basics – produce, dairy, etc. Once you've got the essentials, then you can venture into the inner labyrinth if you're feeling adventurous. Otherwise, you'll be fine. Three kilos of durian is a commitment though... I feel your pain.

Haha, yeah, I figured as much. Tops is a monster. Three kilos of durian was a spontaneous decision I instantly regretted. The sheer smell alone almost knocked me off my feet. I should've just stuck to the plan. Next time, perimeter only. Thanks for the advice!

Sukhumvit Secrets?

fmd_good Sukhumvit Rd

The BTS Skytrain is your friend. Seriously. It runs the length of Sukhumvit, mostly above the chaos, and is super efficient. Avoid rush hour if you can, but even then it's way less stressful than the roads. For shorter hops, the MRT subway connects to Sukhumvit too. Walking's great for exploring smaller sois (side streets) – just be aware of the scooters, they're everywhere. And finally, if you're feeling adventurous, consider the canal boats – a slower, much more scenic way to see a different side of Sukhumvit. They're not as fast, obviously.

That's awesome advice! I hadn't thought about the canal boats – sounds amazing. Definitely going to prioritize avoiding rush hour on the BTS, though. Thanks for the detailed tips!
