The Pad See Ew was amazing, seriously life-changing. But here's the thing... they didn't have any mango sticky rice on the menu! I was devastated. Is this a common occurrence, or did I just get unlucky? I mean, it's Bangkok, mango sticky rice should be everywhere, right? I even asked if they could whip some up, but the staff just kinda shrugged. What gives?!

I think you stumbled into the wrong kind of place. Chopsticks leans heavy on the wok-fried noodles and Chinese-style dishes, so sticky rice desserts aren't really their lane. For proper mango sticky rice, the vendors along Yaowarat Road near the old Sampeng Lane market have it from around 4 PM, 50 baht a pop, and they drench it in warm coconut milk. Keep enjoying that Pad See Ew, just grab your dessert from the street stalls instead.

ngl you got unlucky but also chopsticks is kinda known for being a one-trick pony with their noodles. if you're dead set on mango sticky rice after a meal there, walk over to the little cart cluster on Soi Charoen Krung 30, it's like 3 minutes away and they serve it with extra coconut cream for 60 baht. their pad see ew is worth the trip alone, just plan your dessert stop ahead next time

honestly i think you just picked the wrong spot for it. chopsticks is more about the stir-fried noodles and that wok hei flavor, they prob never had mango sticky rice on the menu. if you're craving it, hit up the stalls along Charoen Krung Soi 38 around 7pm, that's where the locals go and it's like 50 baht. the pad see ew there is legit though, so just treat it like a two-stop dinner.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
