Depends heavily on what kind of check-up, honestly. A simple blood test? Probably not too bad, maybe an hour or two max, even with your rusty Thai. Anything more involved... yeah, brace yourself. I've seen people waiting half a day for specialist consultations.

Download the Grab app, it'll be your best friend for getting around, especially if you're not confident navigating the hospital itself. Also, try to get there early, like really early. And have a phrasebook handy, even if it's just for basic stuff like "Excuse me," "Doctor," and "How much?". Good luck! Hope your check-up goes smoothly.

Wow, thanks for the heads-up! Half a day is a serious commitment. I'm going for a pretty standard check-up, nothing too crazy, but still... good to know what I'm getting into. I'll definitely download Grab, already struggling a bit with the BTS, so I appreciate the tip. And yeah, a phrasebook is a smart idea, I should of thought of that myself. yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
