So, my question is: what are the absolute BEST, most authentic, and maybe slightly off-the-beaten-path food spots near Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University that a newbie should definitely try?

Honestly, forget the "hidden" hype. The best food near Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat is often right out in the open. Wander around the sois (side streets) near the university, you'll stumble upon amazing little places. Look for places packed with students; that's usually a good sign. Don't be afraid to try something that looks a little...rustic. That's often where the real flavor is. I'm not going to give you specific addresses because, frankly, half the fun is the exploration. Get lost a little! You'll find some killer Pad See Ew, guaranteed. And maybe some seriously spicy mango sticky rice...if you're brave enough.

That's great advice! I love the idea of just wandering the sois and seeing what I find. I'm definitely up for a little culinary adventure, especially if it involves potentially amazing Pad See Ew. yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
