So I'm heading to 71 Sports Club next week, heard it's legendary. My buddy raved about the atmosphere, apparently, it's got this crazy energy, especially on fight nights. But he wouldn't spill the bea… So I'm heading to 71 Sports Club next week, heard it's legendary. My buddy raved about the atmosphere, apparently, it's got this crazy energy, especially on fight nights. But he wouldn't spill the beans on the best way to get a decent seat. Is there some kind of unspoken code or something? Seriously, I don't wanna end up squished against some sweaty dude watching a Muay Thai match from behind a pillar. Any tips from someone who's been there, done that?

Book a table in advance on their Line account, not the website. The website shows upper tier only but if you message them directly you can reserve one of the ground floor tables near the ring for around 300 baht per person minimum spend. Just send them a message in English a few days ahead, they reply pretty quick. That way you walk in at 8pm and skip the whole rush.

ngl the real move is to get there around 7pm and post up at the bar near the ring entrance on the ground floor. the seats fill up fast but the standing rail there is prime real estate, you're literally two meters from the fighters walking in and the ring is dead ahead. just buy a round of beers from the bar staff right away, they'll remember u and keep em coming faster than the hawkers. also the soi dog vendors outside on Ratchadaphisek sell better grilled pork than anything inside, grab a stick before u go in

honestly the trick is to go with a local who knows the security guys. my thai buddy gets us in through the side door near the locker rooms, we stand right by the fighters' entrance path. you can see their faces up close before they get in the ring, way better than any seat. also the bathroom lines get insane after round 2 so plan your piss breaks around the intermission

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
