So, I'm planning a trip to @Bangkok and booked the Overstay Hotel, the name alone is making me nervous! I've heard amazing things about its quirky design and rooftop bar, but I'm a bit of a light slee… So, I'm planning a trip to @Bangkok and booked the Overstay Hotel, the name alone is making me nervous! I've heard amazing things about its quirky design and rooftop bar, but I'm a bit of a light sleeper. Anyone stayed there? How's the noise level at night, especially considering the location? I really want to avoid jet lag adding to sleepless nights. Hoping for some honest feedback before I check in.

The Overstay's location on Sukhumvit Soi 11 is the real issue, not just the hotel itself. That whole street turns into a club crawl from 11pm onward with people shouting and motorbikes revving right outside. If you're set on that area, ask for a room on the highest floor facing the back alley, not the street. I'd actually recommend the Adelphi Suites a few blocks down if you want to switch, their rooms are properly soundproofed and you still get the same neighborhood access.

honestly i'd skip the Overstay if you're a light sleeper. the soi it's on gets pretty rowdy with street food stalls and motorbikes all night, plus the bar crowd spilling out. try the Ari area instead, way quieter and still has cool spots like a tiny speakeasy worth finding

i live a few blocks from there. the noise is real but it's more of a low rumble from sukhumvit road than anything crazy. if you're on the river side of the hotel you'll get less street noise and maybe even a breeze. the rooftop is good but overpriced for what it is, i'd grab a drink at teens of thailand instead which is a 5 minute walk and way more chill. earplugs are a must either way

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
