I found the weirdest things, like durian-flavored potato chips (nope, didn't try them). Anyway, I grabbed a few things and then... couldn't find the checkout! It was like a maze... seriously, I spent ten minutes wandering around before finally stumbling upon a cashier. Anyone else experience this MaxValu labyrinth? Was it just me, or is that place designed to subtly test your patience?

Yeah, I've been there. It's not just you, that place is a total maze. If you want snacks for a flight and don't feel like getting lost, just hit up the Tops Market at the EmQuartier mall instead. Way easier to find the checkout and they've got a good snack section too.

That's the one on Sukhumvit Soi 71, right? I think the layout issue is because they keep rearranging things every few months. It's a Japanese chain so they stock a lot of imported stuff you can't find at Big C or Tesco, which is nice, but yeah the floor plan makes zero sense. If you just want snacks for the flight next time, try the 7-Eleven on the corner of Soi 49 instead, way faster and they actually have a decent selection of Pocky and those little dried squid packs.

Oh my god, yes! That MaxValu is the WORST. I swear, they deliberately make those things impossible to navigate. I once spent fifteen minutes looking for bottled water, only to find it tucked away in some completely random corner behind a mountain of instant noodles. It's like a supermarket version of an escape room, except the prize is overpriced Kit Kats. I'm convinced they're secretly training future SAS operatives in there.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
