honestly the 3am thing is the bigger issue than the soi itself. grab drivers know how to handle narrow lanes here, they do it all day, but at that hour some of them rely on gps and gps gets confused in the old town mess. what i'd do is pin the soi entrance on google maps first, like walk the street view before u leave. then when the grab arrives, just type the soi name into their phone yourself, dont trust the app pin. also, sirisuk is near enough to a 7-eleven on the main road, i think it's on soi sukhumvit 22 side, so if the driver hesitates, tell em to stop there and u'll walk the last 50 meters. dragging a suitcase through motorbike traffic is a rite of passage here, but at 3am it's mostly empty, so it's actually the easiest time to do it. just keep the wheels off the gutter, that's where the water collects.

Depends entirely on the specific soi number of Sirisuk Apartment. Some Grab drivers are amazing at navigating those tiny lanes, others... not so much. If you have the exact address and it's a reasonably well-known building, it shouldn't be too terrible, even at 3 am. But be prepared. Giving the driver the closest major intersection beforehand might help. You could also try messaging them once they've accepted the ride to double-check they're aware of the narrow access. And yeah, 3 am, expect some motorbike chaos. Maybe consider getting dropped a little further away and walking the last bit with your suitcase. It might save you a lot of stress.

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
