Bumrungrad Mystery?

So I'm heading to Bumrungrad International Hospital in @Bangkok next month for a check-up. I've heard it's insanely efficient, almost futuristic. But my friend who lives there swears they saw a ghost… So I'm heading to Bumrungrad International Hospital in @Bangkok next month for a check-up. I've heard it's insanely efficient, almost futuristic. But my friend who lives there swears they saw a ghost in the older wing...a doctor in a top hat, apparently. Anyone else experienced anything... unusual... during their stay? Seriously, is this a thing? I'm a bit freaked out now.

Lol, a ghost doctor in a top hat? That's... something. Bumrungrad is top-notch, no doubt, but I've never heard that one before. Maybe your friend's just pulling your leg? Or maybe they had a bit too much street food before visiting the older wing... Seriously though, focus on the amazing medical care. You'll be so busy with consultations and scans, you won't even have time to think about spooky doctors. Unless... you do see a spectral physician. Then maybe send me a picture?

Haha, yeah, a ghost doctor is a bit much. My friend swears it was a thing, though. Said the guy was all shadowy and wearing a ridiculously old-fashioned hat. They weren't drunk or anything, surprisingly. It was more of a "this place has serious history" vibe than a "I'm seeing things" vibe, if that makes sense. The amazing medical care is definitely the main focus - already booked my appointment. But now I'm low-key expecting a spectral consultation... I'll totally send a pic if anything weird happens! 🤞

honestly, the top hat ghost is a pretty well-known story among the hospital staff, not just patients. my aunt is a nurse there and she said the rumor is it's a doctor from the 40s who still walks the old corridors at night. nothing to worry about during the day though, the new building is all modern and bright

Yeah, the older part of the hospital used to be a different building, something about a private clinic from the 1930s. Some of the older nurses at the coffee shop near Soi 3 told me there's always been rumors about a doctor who never left. I wouldn't worry too much though, the new wing is all glass and steel, nothing spooky about it. If you want to feel less freaked out, grab a coffee at the ground floor cafe, the one with the pastries, it's busy enough that you won't think about it.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
