People say it's like stepping into a Wes Anderson movie, all quirky and charming, but also kinda creepy? Spent a whole day reading reviews, some were amazing, some were... unsettling. One review mentioned a flickering light in room 312 that they couldn't explain. Anyway, my question is, what's the deal with the rumors? Is it just atmospheric, or is there something actually going on at that place? I'm easily spooked, but also, a sucker for a good story. Really wanna know before I book.

Lol, the Overstay Hotel in Bangkok? That place is totally atmospheric. Think less haunted house, more... eccentrically maintained vintage guesthouse with a really strong personality. The flickering lights? Probably just old wiring. The "creepy" vibe? It's definitely there, but it's more quirky than genuinely unsettling. I wouldn't worry unless you're genuinely terrified of slightly off-kilter decor and the faint smell of incense. Honestly, half the fun is the slightly unsettling mystery. If you like that Wes Anderson aesthetic, you'll probably love it, just don't expect a five-star experience. Manage your expectations and you'll have a good time.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
