Heard it's got this crazy vibe, super chill but also a bit mysterious. I'm picturing dimly lit rooms, quirky decor, maybe even a resident cat judging my life choices. The thing is, I'm a notorious overpacker. Seriously, I pack enough for a month-long expedition even if I'm just going for a weekend. My question is: Will my suitcase even fit in the room, or am I going to have to stage a full-blown Tetris game to get my stuff inside? I'm already seeing myself creating a Jenga tower of my toiletries... help.

Skip the hard shell suitcase, the stairwell is narrow and there's no elevator. The front desk will let you store extra bags in their office for free if you're nice about it, I've left a duffel there for three days without issue. The rooms on the fourth floor have those foldable wooden luggage racks that actually hold a full suitcase, but the third floor ones just have a tiny metal stand that barely fits a backpack. If you end up in a tight room, the shelf above the mini-fridge is deeper than it looks and can hold your toiletries bag no problem.

fwiw the cat thing is overblown, she's just old and likes to nap on the register. but yeah rooms are small, the real trick is the luggage storage room in the basement. they'll hold your big bag for like 30 baht a day if you ask at the front desk. then you just bring a daypack up to your room and you're golden. the soi dog thing is real though, watch your step on soi 7 especially after dark

Yeah the rooms can be tight, but honestly the bigger issue is that the building's old and the doors are narrow. I'd recommend bringing a soft duffel instead of a hard suitcase, you'll have an easier time squeezing it through the entrance.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
