Heard stories about the waiting times being... intense. My flight's super early so I'm worried about getting there in time. Anyone know what the typical wait times are like, especially in the morning? Or any tips to make the process smoother? I've got all my paperwork sorted, just want to get it over with quickly. They call it the "Embassy" there, obviously, but I don't want to be late. This is super important!

fwiw the embassy is actually on Soi 39 off Rama 9, not the main road, so if your taxi drops you at the wrong spot you'll waste 20 minutes walking. the guards at the gate are pretty chill if you show up with all your forms already notarized, they'll wave you past the main queue sometimes. one thing nobody mentions is the photocopy shop across the street opens at 7am sharp, but their machine jams constantly so bring extra copies of everything yourself. also the visa section runs on thai time not nigerian time so expect the actual processing to start 30-45 min late no matter when u arrive

the real trick is getting past the security checkpoint without drama. theyll make u dump everything from your bag into those little plastic trays and if u have a power bank over 20000mah they might give u side eye. also theres a coffee cart that rolls in around 8:30 on the soi before the embassy, the lady makes decent thai iced tea for 20 baht, way better than the 7-eleven stuff. just keep your phone charged cause theres no wifi and the signal gets weird inside that building, probably all the concrete

ngl the whole thing is a bit of a gamble but what worked for me was going right when they close for lunch break around noon. sounds weird but the morning rush clears out and you can slide in before they lock the doors. just be ready to wait through their lunch hour inside if they let you stay

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
