Apparently, it's kinda infamous... like, there are stories about it being haunted or something, but all online mentions are super vague. I'm interested in urban exploration stuff, and the architecture looks pretty cool from the pictures. Anyone know any legit stories, or better yet, have you ever been inside? I'm dying to know if the stories are true... or just local legends.

yeah the MT&T thing is basically bangkok's most famous conversation starter lol. if u want something that actually feels abandoned and has a weird history, check out the old siam commercial bank building near talat noi. it's been empty for ages and the neighborhood around it has this quiet, crumbling feel that the MT&T just doesn't have. the bank building is way smaller but the details inside are still intact, old safes and teller counters and stuff. grab a coffee at the small shop across the street first, the owner knows all the local stories about that block

honestly the mt&t building's more famous for being unfinished than haunted. it was supposed to be some big commercial project but the 97 financial crisis hit and they just stopped construction mid-way. you can see exposed rebar and half-finished floors from the street. if you want to get inside you'll have to be sneaky about it, the guards are pretty keen on keeping people out especially after dark. there's a decent noodle shop on the corner of sathorn road nearby if you need a spot to scope it out from

You're getting the same few stories because that's mostly what there is to know. The building's real claim to fame is how visible it is from the Saphan Taksin BTS station, especially at sunset when the whole skeleton turns orange. I've been inside once through a busted gate on the Charoen Krung side, and honestly it's just a big concrete shell with a lot of pigeon mess and some surprisingly good graffiti on the upper floors. The creepiest part wasn't any ghost, it was standing on an unfinished floor edge looking down at the traffic on Sathorn Road with nothing between you and the drop.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
