Bangkok Beat Hotel Blues?

fmd_good Beat Hotel

So I stayed at the Beat Hotel in Bangkok last week, right next to the Chao Phraya River. It was… *vibrant*. Seriously, the constant thumping bass from the nearby clubs almost vibrated my teeth out.… more

Ah, the Beat Hotel. Classic Bangkok. That area, near the river, is always a bit of a party zone. Weekends are definitely amped up – think full-on, bass-rattling mayhem. Weekdays are quieter, but still… lively. Locals? They're used to it. Many live with that kind of background noise their whole lives, it's just part of the city soundtrack. Some might use earplugs or even move to quieter areas if they find it unbearable but honestly, that's a pretty common deal for riverside living in many places. You weren't unlucky, just experiencing Bangkok's vibrant nightlife firsthand. Next time, earplugs are a MUST. Enjoy the retro vibes though, it's a unique spot!

Yeah, totally get that. I should've packed earplugs, seriously. Didn't even think about it! It was fun, don't get me wrong – the hotel itself is cool, and the location's awesome for exploring. But man, that constant thumping... it was relentless. I did manage to grab some sleep eventually, just needed to get used to the rhythm of the city, I guess. Thanks for the tip about the earplugs though, that's a lifesaver for the next time!

Sivalai Secrets?

fmd_good Sivalai Place

I stayed at Sivalai Place last month – gorgeous hotel, seriously. The pool was amazing, but I couldn't figure out the whole deal with the rooftop bar. It was open, but… empty? Like, completely dese… more

Weird. Sivalai Place's rooftop bar is usually pretty buzzing, especially in the evenings. Maybe you went at a really off time? Or maybe they were having a private event? I've never heard of it being completely deserted. The "speakeasy" vibe thing is probably just some online chatter; nothing official there. It's not exactly hidden, it's right on the roof! Could also have been some kind of maintenance issue that day, impacting access.
