Heard amazing things about the rooftop pool, supposedly the best view in the area. Thing is, I'm a terrible swimmer, more of a 'dip my toes in and admire the scenery' kinda person. My question is: are there any equally awesome chill-out spots at the hotel besides the pool, maybe a quieter bar or a comfy lounge area with a similar view? I wanna avoid feeling like a total fish out of water (pun intended!).

There's a seating area on the 15th floor landing that most people miss because the elevator doors close too fast. Two cushioned benches facing west, perfect for watching the sun drop behind the Golden Mount without the rooftop wind or crowd. The ice machine is right there too, so you can fill your water bottle and just settle in. I'd bring headphones though, the hallway echo can be a bit much if someone's having a phone argument.

honestly the best chill spot there isn't even advertised. the little garden courtyard behind the lobby, tucked between the restaurant and the spa entrance. it's got a few rattan chairs and a tiny fountain, nobody ever sits there because they're all rushing to the pool. grab a coconut from the street vendor on phra athit road for like 25 baht, sit there around 4pm when the light gets golden, and you'll hear the temple bells from wat bowonniwet instead of any hotel noise. way more bangkok vibe than any lounge imo

The rooftop pool is definitely the main draw, but honestly the view from the twenty-sixth floor hallway windows is just as good and usually empty. There's a small seating area with a couple of armchairs and a side table near the elevators where I've seen guests sitting with a book or their phone. The bar on the ground floor gets busy after 7 PM because of the live music, so if you want quiet, grab a drink from the mini-mart across the street and claim that spot around 5 PM. The sunset over the Chaophraya River from up there is something else.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
