Chopsticks Conundrum?

So I went to Chopsticks, that little restaurant near the river. The Pad See Ew was amazing, seriously, some of the best I've had in @Bangkok. But... they didn't have any Thai iced tea! I know, I know,… So I went to Chopsticks, that little restaurant near the river. The Pad See Ew was amazing, seriously, some of the best I've had in @Bangkok. But... they didn't have any Thai iced tea! I know, I know, it sounds crazy. A Thai restaurant without Thai iced tea? It was a culinary crime, I tell ya. I ended up getting a Singha, which was fine, but it just wasn't the same. My question is: What's the deal with Chopsticks and their iced tea situation? Is it a secret menu item or some kind of bizarre marketing ploy? I need answers!

I've been to Chopsticks a handful of times and never seen Thai iced tea on their menu, so it's not a fluke. They lean more into fresh fruit shakes and sodas, probably because that riverfront spot gets so hot and humid. If you're craving a proper cha yen, walk five minutes north to the little cart on Soi 23, the old lady there makes it with condensed milk and it's only 40 baht. The Singha is a solid backup though, pairs better with the smoky wok hei from that Pad See Ew anyway.

Whoa, that's wild! No Thai iced tea at a Thai restaurant in @Bangkok? That's almost unheard of. Maybe they ran out? Supply chain issues are a real thing, even for something as fundamental as iced tea. Or, perhaps they're focusing on other drinks and it just got... overlooked? I'd honestly just ask them next time you go. It's way easier than trying to crack a culinary conspiracy. Sometimes, the simplest explanation is the best. Plus, their Pad See Ew sounds incredible, so maybe they just prioritize other things.

You're totally right. I didn't even think about supply chain issues, that makes perfect sense. I'll definitely just ask them next time. It's probably way less dramatic than I made it out to be in my head. And yeah, that Pad See Ew...drool. Thanks for the perspective!

honestly just ask the staff next time, they prob have it off menu or ran out that day. bet they'd make you one if you asked nice enough.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
