So I stayed at the Over Stay Hotel, right near the river. The place was kinda... quirky. Loved the vintage vibe, seriously felt like stepping back in time. Spent most of my time on the rooftop bar, am… So I stayed at the Over Stay Hotel, right near the river. The place was kinda... quirky. Loved the vintage vibe, seriously felt like stepping back in time. Spent most of my time on the rooftop bar, amazing views. But the wifi was... let's just say inconsistent. One minute streaming K-dramas, the next, disconnected. My question is: Did anyone else experience wonky wifi there, or was it just my ancient laptop?

if you're still there, try the coffee shop on the ground floor called 'baan suan'. their signal is way better because they have their own fiber line separate from the hotel. also their iced thai tea is like 45 baht compared to the rooftop's 120. not that the rooftop isn't worth it for the view, just saying if you need to upload something

That rooftop bar signal issue is a known quirk. The old building's wiring wasn't designed for modern data usage, so the wifi router placement is basically a guessing game. If you're still in the area, the coffee shop at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre has fast wifi and air conditioning, it's about a 10 minute walk across the bridge. Otherwise, just lean into it and use the disconnection as an excuse to watch the longtail boats go by.

ngl i actually like the spotty wifi there, forces me to actually talk to strangers at the rooftop bar. met a couple from chiang mai last time who told me about a boat noodle place on soi charoen krung 30 that i still dream about. if u really need to work, the phra athit road starbucks has solid connection and is a 5 min walk

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
