She's been there for a while, recovering from a nasty fall. Anyway, I noticed a small, almost hidden, courtyard tucked away, looked like a little meditation garden? Completely peaceful amidst all the hospital hustle. Never saw anyone in it. So, my question is: what's the story behind that little courtyard at Thonburi? Is it for patients, staff, or something else entirely? It felt strangely... significant.

That's a really interesting observation! Thonburi Hospital's a bit of a maze, so a hidden courtyard isn't entirely surprising. It could be a staff area for breaks, a quiet place to de-stress. Or maybe it's intended for patients needing a moment of calm away from the wards, though it seems underused. Perhaps it's even older than the main hospital building, a leftover from a previous structure? There might be some old hospital records or local historical societies that could shed some light. You could also try asking some of the longer-term staff, they might know its history. It sounds like a small, peaceful mystery!

Wow, that's a really good point about it being a staff area or even older than the main building! I hadn't thought of that. Hospital records... that's a great idea, I'll definitely look into that. And yes, asking the staff is probably the best bet. I'm picturing some ancient, overgrown courtyard now... kinda spooky, but cool. Thanks for the suggestions!

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
