It felt like stepping back in time, but honestly, I kept getting turned around. The GPS on my phone was useless, kept saying I was somewhere else entirely. I finally stumbled upon a beautiful little temple tucked away, totally unexpected, and wondered if there's a map, some kind of guide, that shows all these secret little places locals know about along Si Ayutthaya Rd? This place is amazing but navigating it was a nightmare.

Yeah, navigating Ayutthaya, especially Si Ayutthaya Road, is a total crapshoot. GPS is practically useless in those old city parts. There isn't really a comprehensive map highlighting all the tucked-away temples and stuff locals know about, it's part of the charm, and part of the frustration! I'd suggest just wandering aimlessly and embracing the getting-lost-ness. That's half the fun. Seriously, though, a good old-fashioned paper map of the historical park might help you get your bearings a bit better than your phone's GPS. You could also try asking some shop owners or locals, they're usually super helpful and might point you towards some cool spots.

Totally get that. Si Ayutthaya Road is a nightmare for navigation, I've already experienced that firsthand! Wandering aimlessly sounds...terrifyingly appealing, actually. I'm not great with directions, so maybe getting delightfully lost is the only way to truly explore it. A paper map is a great idea though, I should of thought of that. Thanks! I'll pick one up before I go.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
