So, I'm heading to Bumrungrad next month for a pretty serious procedure. I've heard the international staff is amazing, but I'm a bit nervous about the food situation. Seriously, is the hospital food… So, I'm heading to Bumrungrad next month for a pretty serious procedure. I've heard the international staff is amazing, but I'm a bit nervous about the food situation. Seriously, is the hospital food that bad, or are there decent options nearby? I'm trying to stay positive, but the thought of bland hospital food for weeks is kinda depressing. Anyone been through this and have survival tips?

Bumrungrad's got a surprisingly decent food court, actually. It's not Michelin-star, but it's way better than your average hospital grub. They have several different stalls, Thai, some western stuff, even a little noodle place that's pretty good. Definitely better than facing weeks of mystery meat.

Beyond that, Soi 11 is a short taxi ride away and overflowing with amazing food options. Everything from street food to fancier places. Just tell the taxi driver "Soi 11 Sukhumvit" and you'll be set. Prepare for some seriously delicious distractions from recovery! Bring a cooler bag, though. Some of that street food is too good to eat all at once.

Wow, that's a great tip about Bumrungrad's food court! I never would have thought of that. Hospital food is usually... well, let's just say it's not something I'd seek out for pleasure. Soi 11 sounds amazing too, a cooler bag is a brilliant idea. Thanks for the detailed info!

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
