Overstaying My Welcome?

So, I'm at this Over Stay Hotel, right near the Chao Phraya River. The pool's amazing, seriously, I could live here. But the Wi-Fi... it's like a dial-up modem from the 90s. Seriously considering writ… So, I'm at this Over Stay Hotel, right near the Chao Phraya River. The pool's amazing, seriously, I could live here. But the Wi-Fi... it's like a dial-up modem from the 90s. Seriously considering writing a strongly worded email. Spent three hours trying to upload a single picture to Instagram. My question is: Do they have any plans to upgrade their internet? It's kinda killing the vibe.

honestly the wifi at over stay hotel has been trash for years, it's a known thing among locals who stay there. if u want good internet near the river try the lobby of the Marriott across the street, they don't check IDs and the signal is solid. or just hit up a cafe on Soi Charoen Krung 30, there's a place called Casa Cafe that has fiber and decent iced coffee for like 60 baht.

The Over Stay has been running on the same routers since they opened about six years ago. I know someone who used to work front desk there and they said management just doesn't see wifi as a priority because most guests are tourists who don't need to work. If you're stuck there for a few more days, grab a local SIM at the 7-Eleven on Samsen Road, an AIS tourist pack with 30GB costs 299 baht and your phone hotspot will be faster than anything they've got.

i've stayed there before and honestly the wifi is worse on the higher floors, something about the concrete blocking the signal. if you're on floor 4 or above ask to move down, it helped me a bit. also the river ferry to Tha Tien is like 15 baht and there's a coffeeshop called Kaizen right at the pier with wifi that actually works for uploading pics, plus they do a solid matcha latte for around 80 baht

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
