I've heard the rooftop pool is amazing, but the pictures online don't really show the vibe. Is the atmosphere more relaxed and chill, or is it super busy and crowded, even during the off-season? I'm hoping for a quiet place to unwind after exploring @Bangkok all day... kinda need that peace and quiet.

if you're at the sivalai and craving quiet, just take the elevator down to the ground floor and walk out the back gate onto soi 22. there's a tiny soi dog that sleeps by the 7-eleven every afternoon and the whole street is way calmer than the rooftop. the pool is fine but that soi has the real bangkok pace

ngl the sivalai rooftop is more of a see-and-be-seen spot than a quiet unwind zone lol. if you're set on staying there, try the pool at like 7am on a weekday - you'll have it to yourself and the city views are way better before the smog rolls in. or just walk 5 mins to the little soi 22 coffee shop called roots, grab a cold brew and sit on their curb stools, it's dead quiet and way more bangkok real than any rooftop

mornings are your best bet for sure, but even then the sivalai pool can get some echo from the lobby noise. if you really want quiet, grab a coffee from the shop on soi 22 and walk over to benjakitti park instead, it's like 10 mins and dead silent at sunrise. the rooftop is nice for photos but honestly the park wins for unwinding

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
