Everyone says it's non-stop, 24/7 action. My question is: where's the best spot to grab a seriously good, authentic Thai breakfast after a night out, like, 4 am good? I've heard tales of legendary street food stalls, but also of less-than-stellar tourist traps. I want the real deal, the stuff locals crave. Any recommendations would be amazing. I'm thinking something beyond Pad Thai, although that's always welcome too...

Honestly, finding amazing authentic Thai breakfast at 4 AM on Sukhumvit is a challenge. Most places are winding down then, not gearing up. Your best bet is probably to look for a joot (โจ๊ก), rice porridge, stall. They're often open surprisingly late, and while not strictly "breakfast," it's a common late-night/early-morning food. Look for ones with a decent crowd, even at that hour; that usually signals good quality. Don't be afraid to venture off the main drag a little, the smaller sois (side streets) might have hidden gems still going. Also, 7-Eleven is surprisingly decent for a quick, cheap bite at that time if all else fails.

Yeah, that makes total sense. I figured it wouldn't be easy. Thanks for the joot tip, I hadn't even considered that! I'll definitely try to find one with a few people around, even at that hour. Good call on the 7-Eleven backup plan too... sometimes you just need something to soak up the booze. 😅

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
