I'm visiting my aunt at Thonburi Hospital next week, she's been in for a while now. I'm a little nervous about the emergency room situation, though, because my Thai's not great. I don't want to be stuck there all day if it's super busy. I'll be bringing her some mango sticky rice, so hopefully that'll brighten things up a bit...

honestly if ur aunt is already admitted and you're just visiting, you won't be sitting in the ER waiting room. just head straight to her ward. the ER wait times are only for people coming in through the door. visiting hours are pretty chill at Thonburi, maybe grab her some nam dok mai mango not the regular one, the sweet spot is at the fruit stalls near the BTS Wongwian Yai exit

You're fine since she's already admitted. Just go straight to the inpatient building, it's the one behind the main entrance with the small coffee shop on the ground floor. The visiting hours are 10am to 8pm and they're pretty relaxed about it. The mango sticky rice will make her day, just make sure you get it fresh that morning from the vendors near Wongwian Yai BTS.

imo the other comments are right, you wont be in the ER at all since she's admitted. but if you do end up needing to find something, the hospital has a free shuttle between buildings, just flag it down at the main entrance. also, the mango sticky rice vendors near Wongwian Yai are open till like 2pm so dont stress if you're running late

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
