I swear, I've never seen a supermarket so crammed. Trying to grab a single mango felt like navigating a rugby scrum during peak hour. People piled high with groceries, almost knocking over displays. People piled high with groceries, almost knocking over displays. I almost lost my composure trying to find some decent wasabi peas. It was chaos, beautiful, delicious chaos, but chaos nonetheless. I managed to snag a few things, but I'm still wondering if I missed out on some hidden gem of a snack in that mad dash. Maybe next time I'll go at 5 am...

I've seen grown adults full on bodycheck each other for the last bag of crisps there, it's a known phenomenon. If you're set on that specific store, try the one at EmQuartier instead, it's got a bit more breathing room and the same wasabi pea situation.

You were at Gourmet Market at Siam Paragon, right? That one's always a war zone, especially the produce section near the entrance. Try the Villa Market on Sukhumvit 33, it's smaller but way less intense, and they actually stock wasabi peas from a Japanese brand called Kameda that are far better than the generic ones. If you're still craving that chaotic energy, hit up the Or Tor Kor market near Chatuchak on a Sunday morning, it's a proper fruit and snack paradise without the supermarket shoving.

weekends are a total zoo, especially at the gourmet market or tops. if u go on a weekday around 10am it's chill enough to actually browse. centralwOrld's supermarket is usually a bit calmer than the one at siam paragon if that helps. also check the snack aisle near the imported goods for the wasabi peas, they hide them sometimes

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
