Bangkok relaxation spot with pool, sauna, & restaurant

the Oasis Spa in the Langsuan area is worth a look if you want something smaller and more private. their pool is tiny but surrounded by plants so it feels secluded, and the sauna is a nice dry heat with eucalyptus. the restaurant there does a decent khao soi for 200 baht but honestly the real draw is that you can book a day pass for like 800 baht and just rot there for hours without anyone bothering you. it's in a quiet soi off Langsuan so no street noise either

You want Yunomori Onsen in Thonglor. It's a Japanese-style sento with a proper hot pool, cold plunge, sauna, and a restaurant that does okay Japanese comfort food. The pool is more of a large soaking tub than something for laps, but it works for floating around. I'd go on a weekday morning when it's quieter, the Sukhumvit 26 entrance is easy to miss so keep an eye out.

honestly if you want something that feels less like a spa and more like a lazy resort day, check out The Raintree Health Club near Asok. they've got a decent sized saltwater pool, a proper Finnish sauna, a steam room, and a restaurant that does solid Thai dishes for like 150 baht. the hot and cold plunge pools are separate and actually cold enough to wake you up. it gets busy with locals on weekends so aim for a weekday afternoon if you can

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
