Got a question about work permits?

I have on my passport the stamp that says that i have to leave the country on March and my work permit expire on April. I don't know when I have to leave the country. March or April ? your work permit and visa are two different things unfortunately. the stamp in your passport is what matters for staying legally, so March is when immigration expects you out. if you overstay that stamp even by a day it's 500 baht per day fine at the airport, but also could cause issues for future visas. best thing is to go to immigration at Chaeng Wattana with your work permit and employer letter, they can give you a one-year extension based on employment that aligns with your permit expiry. just don't wait til the last week of March because the queues there are brutal.

honestly the stamp on your passport is what immigration will enforce at the border, not the work permit date. the work permit just lets you work, but the visa stamp controls your stay. so if it says March, you gotta leave by March even if your work permit is still valid for another month.

I'd swing by the MTT office at Chamchuri Square if you want to sort it out, they handle extensions for work permits. but yeah, March is your hard date unless you get a re-entry permit or extension before then.

Contact the Thai immigration bureau. They'll be able to clarify the departure date based on your passport stamp and work permit expiry. Don't risk it, get official confirmation.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
