I travel for work, and really like the ability to have a transaction history, and just prefer cashless payment in general. (I did search the sub already, but didn't find any threads that were recent)

Rabbit LINE Pay is another option that works well for visitors. You can link a Visa or Mastercard to it through the app, and it's accepted at most places that take QR payments here, including major malls like Siam Paragon and CentralWorld. The transaction history is clean and searchable, which I appreciate for tracking work expenses. Just be aware that some smaller street vendors might still want cash, so keep a bit on hand for those spots.

true wallet is probably ur best bet as a visitor. it lets u link a visa or mastercard directly, and it's accepted pretty much everywhere from 7-eleven to street stalls in bangkok. just download it, verify with ur passport at a convenience store, and u're set. promptpay is what locals use but u need a thai bank account for that, so skip it. transaction history is clear in the app, and u can top up at any 7-eleven if ur card doesn't link smoothly

PromptPay, obviously. Everyone uses it.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
