Can I order from Amazon SG and have it ship to Bangkok?

I miss Amazon dearly and I fear my life has no meaning without their convenient platform. I miss Amazon dearly and I fear my life has no meaning without their convenient platform.

you can but it's a whole thing. Amazon SG doesn't ship most stuff direct to thailand, you'd need a freight forwarder like ezbuy or a singapore-based reshipper. i've used shopandship before, they give u a sg address then u pay for the onward courier to bkk, takes like 5-7 days and customs fees hit u on top. honestly for the hassle, lazada and shopee thailand have most of the same stuff, just search the brand. the only thing i really miss is amazon's returns policy, local platforms are way more annoying with that. if u absolutely need it, check if the item ships via amazon global, some do, but expect 2-3 weeks and a possible import duty surprise at the door.

The real trick is to check if the seller on Amazon SG lists the item under "Amazon Global" with Thailand in the ship-to dropdown, but even then, the freight forwarder route is your only bet for the full catalog. I'd add that the import duty here isn't random, it's a flat 7% VAT plus a handling fee from the courier, so factor that into the price before you commit. What actually killed the habit for me was learning the Thai brand names on Lazada, like "Procter & Gamble official store" vs searching the English product name, the local listings are way more complete once you crack that code.

It's not just you, the shipping situation here is a constant pain point. One thing nobody mentioned is that you can sometimes get lucky with the Amazon Global store, they've got a filter for items that ship to Thailand, but the selection is tiny compared to the full catalog. Honestly though, once you get used to the search filters on Shopee and the flash sales on Lazada, you stop noticing it, except maybe on the return policy thing.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
