Barber for natural curly men?

Going to Bangkok soon and planning to get my hair and beard trimmed there. In my country (Finland) it's very hard to find barber who can cut curly hairs. Is there any in Bangkok? Just Curly Studio is the obvious one everyone will point you to, but if you want a more traditional barbershop vibe check out BlackWood Barber on Soi 31. They work with a lot of mixed heritage guys and know how to handle texture without defaulting to a blowout or a buzz. A full cut and beard trim there runs about 600-800 baht. For something cheaper, head to Bearing Barber near BTS Bearing, the owner has curly hair himself and charges around 300 baht for a cut.

tbh most barbers here know how to handle curly hair way better than in cold countries. check out Just Curly Studio on Sukhumvit 33, they specialize in textured hair and won't butcher ur curls like a regular shop might. for the beard too, they're pretty solid but make sure to tell them exactly what length u want cause they tend to go shorter than expected. if that's too far, there's also Black Amber Barber near Thong Lo BTS, they're decent with curls too just a bit pricier

ngl finnish hair is a whole different beast from what most bangkok barbers see daily, so skip the trendy spots and go to Teddy Barber on Soi Ari. the guy who runs it used to work in london salons and actually understands european curl patterns instead of treating them like asian waves, beard work is clean too. bring exact reference photos tho, cause "just trim it" in thai barber language sometimes means taking off way more than u expect

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
