They were 70% off, and the sales lady assured us they were authentic. However, after using them a few times, we noticed they didn't last long. Do you guys know if these stores are selling legit perfumes? We feel like we wasted money (we bought 5 perfumes in total). 😭

honestly platinum mall is a gamble with anything that comes in a box with a brand name on it. those stalls inside clothing shops are basically a known setup for replica perfumes, they swap stock every few weeks and the sales staff just read a script. next time if u want a deal, check the robinson department store at centralworld on a weekend, they sometimes have 20% off on select brands and u can smell the tester first. or just go to king power rangnam duty free, the prices there are normal and u know it's real

the scent not lasting is the giveaway, real perfume has fixatives that hold for hours even on clothes. if it fades in under two hours it's pretty much scented alcohol with a knockoff oil blend. five bottles is a harsh lesson but at least u learned for 70% less than the real thing would've cost lol

That's a bummer, but yeah, those are almost certainly replicas. Real perfumes don't go 70% off unless they're being discontinued at a department store. Trinity Fragrance is one of those stalls that swaps stock constantly, they're not an official distributor for anyone. For future reference, the Siam Paragon beauty hall is your safest bet, or if you want better prices, check out Eveandboy in Siam Square or CentralWorld's basement. They have testers out and you can spray and walk around for an hour to see how it sits on your skin before you commit.

yeah those are fakes, sorry. platinum mall is great for clothes and random stuff but perfume at 70% off is always too good to be true. the real distributors like L'Oreal or Coty don't let their stock end up in a clothing stall.

if you still want a deal next time, try the Eveandboy outlet at MBK Center, 4th floor near the escalator. they sell legit overstock and testers at maybe 20-30% off, nothing crazy like 70%. also worth checking the Siam Discovery fragrance section, they sometimes have bundle deals on smaller sizes that work out cheaper per ml.

five bottles is rough tho, tbh i'd just use them as room spray or hand soap at this point. the refund fight at platinum is not worth the stress, those vendors know how to play the game.

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
