The best kee mao I've had in Bangkok is at Baan Somtum in Sathorn, but specifically their "kee mao talay" with mixed seafood. It's not a street stall, it's a sit-down restaurant, and they do a version with crispy fried basil on top that changes the texture completely. For other must-haves, the grilled pork neck at Soi Polo Fried Chicken in the same area is seriously good, and you can get both done in one trip since they're about 15 minutes apart by taxi.

honestly just hit up any street stall in chinatown yaocharoat that looks busy with locals, kee mao quality is all about the wok hei and theyll have it down. skip the tourist spots for this one

For proper kee mao, try the stall at Soi 38 in Ekkamai - it's the same soi as the famous mango sticky rice spot but further in. They char the noodles properly on high heat and use fresh bird's eye chilies, not the dried stuff. The pork belly version there is what I'd go for, around 80 baht. If you want other must-haves, the khao mun gai at Pratunam's Go-Ang is worth the queue for the ginger sauce alone.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
