Hello i've seen that there have been multiple threads about vegan milk in bangkok & thailand and that it's apparently rather hard to find it here.

But i couldn't find a post asking about the availability of plant milk at normal „Supermarkets" or stores. And do people keep vegan milk (coconut, rice, oat, soy, etc.) at home regularly?

Would be grateful also for leads on where to get plant milk in „normal stores" as described.

honestly the refrigerated section at most gourmet markets like tops or villa has oatly barista now, it's like 120 baht. but if you're on a budget the thai brand "so good" makes a decent almond milk that's around 50 baht and they stock it at big c near the uht milk. also worth checking the health food aisle at foodland, they sometimes have random imports like rice milk from germany for some reason. people here don't really keep plant milk at home as a staple unless they're vegan or lactose intolerant, most thai households just use fresh cow's milk or those little boxed soy drinks as a snack

soy milk is honestly everywhere, you can find it at any 7-eleven or big c. the thai brand "lactasoy" is super common and comes in shelf-stable packs, usually in the drink section not refrigerated. oat milk is the harder one, you'll mostly find it at tops or villa market and it's pricier, like 80-100 baht for a small carton. a lot of people here just use coconut milk from the can for cooking but not really as a drinking milk, so don't expect that in the dairy aisle. if you're near a makro they sometimes have bigger boxes of soy milk for cheaper

if you're looking for plant milk in normal stores, check the uht section near the coffee creamers. 7-eleven has those little lactasoy cartons for like 10 baht but only in sweet flavors. for unsweetened soy or oat milk, tops or big c extra are your best bet. villa market carries oatly but it's expensive, around 120 baht. most thai people don't keep plant milk at home unless they're vegan or have allergies, so the selection in regular supermarkets is smaller than you'd see in the west

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
