Hello, last month I visited Bangkok for my vacation, while at the cafe I saw several cosplayers taking seats on the table next to mine, because in my country i do cosplay too I got excited and asked t… Hello, last month I visited Bangkok for my vacation, while at the cafe I saw several cosplayers taking seats on the table next to mine, because in my country i do cosplay too I got excited and asked them if there's a convention going on nearby, they told me it was already over and I got a little bummed out, I tried looking up any info on upcoming anime/videogames/pop culture conventions but couldn't find anything, I think of visiting again next year, so if anyone has any info thank you in advance

You'll want to look for Comic Con Bangkok around late September or October, usually at CentralWorld or Queen Sirikit Convention Centre. There's also Japan Expo Thailand in January at CentralWorld, which is heavy on anime and gaming. If you're into more underground stuff, keep an eye out for "Bangkok Pop Fest" on Facebook, it's smaller but has a really chill cosplay crowd.

comic con bangkok is usually your best bet but honestly the dates shift around a bit year to year. if you follow Thailand Comic Con on facebook they post the schedule pretty early, usually around mid-year. also check out the "Anime Festival Asia" page, they do a bangkok stop sometimes but it's not a yearly guarantee. for smaller stuff the cosplay community here posts most events on a group called "Cosplay Thailand" on facebook, that's where the local meetups get announced

tbh just follow Bangkok Cosplay Community on instagram, they post all the pop-up events that never make it to the big sites. a lot of the smaller cons are announced last minute.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
