Any web/mobile developers in Bangkok? Let's connect and collab!

There's a decent crew of devs around and most of them hang out in the Thailand Devs group on Facebook plus a few Discord servers that spun off from it. If you want to meet people in person, the Bangkok JS meetup usually runs at a co-working space around Asok, and there's a React Bangkok group that pops up every couple months. I'd skip the big networking events at hotels, the smaller meetups are where actual collaborations start.

The coworking scene at True Digital Park out past Bearing has a bunch of mobile devs, mostly indie iOS people and a few Flutter folks. Rent a hot desk for a day and you'll bump into them at the coffee counter, it beats any formal meetup I've been to. If you're into backend stuff for mobile apps, the AIS and True accelerator offices nearby also host demo nights every so often.

what kind of stack r u on rn? that changes things a lot. if ur doing frontend web stuff, the bangkok web devs discord is pretty alive & a bunch of freelance collabs have come out of it, mostly ppl building small saas tools together. if ur more mobile native, honestly a lot of the collab happens through agency overflow work, reach out to a few shops around Phrom Phong & they'll loop u in when they need extra hands

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
