honestly most of the tourist-trap tailors on Sukhumvit are overpriced for women's stuff. if you want good work without paying 8000 baht for a dress, try Rajawongse Clothier on Silom. they're known more for suits but they do women's pieces too and the quality is solid. bring a photo or a dress you like for reference and they'll copy it pretty well.

fwiw a lot of the small shops in the Siam Square alleys are hit or miss. I've had better luck with places that do mostly alterations on the side. there's a lady named Khun Nok near Soi 23 who does great custom tops for around 1200 baht but you gotta speak some Thai or bring a friend who does

You could try Pinky Tailor on Soi 11, they do a lot of women's stuff like dresses and blouses and the pricing is fair. Just make sure you give them at least two fittings because they rush sometimes.

I'd skip the tourist areas entirely and head to Chatuchak market on a weekday. There's a stall near section 26 that does bespoke dresses for around 1500 baht, cash only. Bring your own fabric if you want something specific.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
