the mini van from Khao San to Kanchanaburi is like 150 baht and runs pretty often, leaves from near the police box. from the Kanchanaburi bus terminal you can grab a local songthaew or negotiate a taxi for the last stretch to Elephants World. prob takes longer than your direct ride but way cheaper and you can just go whenever

You can catch the 7am bus from Mo Chit to Kanchanaburi for about 120 baht, then grab a songthaew from the bus station to Elephants World for around 50-100 baht per person. It takes longer but you're not tied to anyone else's schedule and you save a lot. The bus drops you right at the Kanchanaburi terminal, and the songthaews are easy to find from there.

honestly 3500 baht round trip from Khao San to Elephants World is a decent deal if you split it 2 or 3 ways. just a heads up the drive is about 2.5 hours each way so factor that into your day. if you're flexible on dates check if they have a public tour option instead, sometimes that works out cheaper and you don't need to coordinate with strangers

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
