Other than Starbucks, anyone know anywhere easy to get DECAF coffee when around town?

Looking for a chain of sorts. I know speciality coffee places might have decaf. But more looking for well know chains so when I walk around in future, I can remember.

E.g. canned decaf in family mart of 7-11? I don't believe they have that

Edit: ready made for on the go. Not a jar of decaf to buy for home

yeah amazon cafe is honestly ur safest bet, the one at bts chit lom usually has it ready. but if ur near a true coffee, ask for "dikaenf" (ดิแคฟ) and point at the menu, they got it but sometimes they gotta brew fresh so give it 5 min. 7-11 is a dead end, even their hot machine coffee is all caffeinated. another sneaky one is the japanese chain, d'oro, they do a decent decaf americano and they're in most malls like centralworld. canned stuff? nah, never seen decaf in a can here, even the import sections at gourmet market skip it.

tbh ur best move might be the hotel breakfast spots or hospital cafes, weirdly. bumrungrad hospital has a decaf machine and nobody ever thinks to go there. also check out the arab coffee chains like cairo coffee or black canyon, they stock decaf sachets more often than the thai chains do. for grab delivery, try ordering from pacamara or roots with a note, but that's not walk-up. honestly the convenience store thing is a myth, even the japanese import stuff at tops is all caffeine. if u're near a lotus's or big c, their in-house bakery cafes sometimes do a decaf americano from a pouch, just ask for "americano mai cafeen" and point at the word caffeine on ur phone.

In Thailand, "decaf" often gets translated as "ไม่มีคาเฟอีน" or people just say "okay, no caffeine" and look confused. For chains, your best bet is actually Amazon Cafe, which is everywhere here, they have a proper decaf option at the counter, though it's a bit hit or miss depending on the barista. True Coffee and Pun.Thai also carry decaf beans, but you have to ask for it specifically and sometimes they'll brew it fresh for you, which takes a few minutes. Forget 7-Eleven and Family Mart, their canned coffee is all full-caffeine, and I've never seen a decaf option in their fridges. If you're really stuck, a lot of the bigger department store food courts like at Central or Siam Paragon will have a Coffee World or D'Or Cafe kiosk, and those usually have decaf sachets they can mix up for you on the spot.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
