You could try the exercise physiology lab at Chulalongkorn University. They do VO2 max testing for around 1800-2000 baht and the staff are all professors or grad students who actually know their stuff. It's near the Siam area so easy to get to by BTS, just go to the Faculty of Sports Science building on Henri Dunant Road.

fwiw there's a place called wellmed center on soi sukhumvit 31 that does it for 1800 baht. they use a treadmill and mask setup, takes about 45 mins. not as fancy as the uni labs but the doctor running it used to work with thailand's national cycling team so he knows his stuff. just text them on line to book, walk-ins rarely work there

the sports science lab at mahidol university's salaya campus does vo2 max testing for around 1500 baht. its a bit of a trek from central bkk but the equipment is top notch and they give u a full breakdown. take the bts to bang wa then grab a taxi from there, should be like 20 mins. way cheaper than the usa price and prob more accurate than gyms claiming they can do it

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
