If you want to be certain about authenticity, go to the River City Bangkok complex near the river. It's not a huge place but there are a couple of proper antique dealers on the second floor who carry vintage Rolex and Omega, and they'll let you inspect the movements. Prices are higher than what you'd find at Chatuchak, but you're paying for peace of mind and a receipt.

skip the malls honestly. head to the old siam area near charoen krung road, there's a couple of real dealers tucked in the sois who've been around for decades. one guy on soi 30 has a small shop with legit omegas from the 60s, prices are fair but cash only. just check the serial numbers against the brand databases before you commit.

my friend got a fake from a shop in MBK once so watch out there. try the weekend market instead, chatuchak has a few dealers but you gotta haggle hard.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
